This first issue was lightening in a bottle It transported me back to a time that I just caught the tail end of where mixed tapes were kings and were a better bio for who you were than any yearbook blurb could be.I loved how they introduced new characters by giving the bands that would be on their mixed tapes as a way to give you a general understanding of the character without having to take up pages for backstory.Also, the complicated dynamics of teenage love were done pretty darn well here.I [...]

I liked how it s kind of a flashback to the 1990s, rather than just set in that period the beginning scene actually has me most interested in what happens Not easy to evaluate based on one issue, though I m guessing it s along the lines of a teenage young adult drama with some comedy thrown in The throwback to the 90s is mostly the music references honestly, you wouldn t know it was in the 90s except for the textual references Not sure if I ll pick up the next one or not.
